This modern obsession with ice-cold beer has gotten totally out of hand. Guinness ‘Extra Cold’? I don’t think.

What you want is a beer warmer, like me. Fill me up with your favourite ale or cider, point my toe into the open fire, and you’re away – a nicely warmed beverage at the ready.

If you’re feeling extra naughty, you can add rum or brandy to the ale to make ‘flip’ – a perfect Christmas concoction.
