I am not a knocker! (yes you read that right)

I am in fact one of 20 gorgeous Iron Lions built into the wall of the River Cam at riverside. Chains passed through the rings to assist anyone who fell into the water.

I am in fact a lifesaving lion.

Saving the lives of those too close to edge or too tipsy to see it!

Because I’m made of iron I am prone to the formation of iron oxides or ‘rust’ so the Museum has to keep a very close eye on me and make sure I’m stored in the right conditions.  Adopt me so I can continue my watchful eye over the museum.

Consider me for adoption – you won’t really get to take me home, but you’ll get 2 free tickets to come visit me plus kids 12 and under are always free – so I’m a day out and an historical object rolled in one!
