Join the talented Zoe Ansari at her first workshop at the Museum of Cambridge. In this fantastic hands-on day you will learn:
- How to design for lino
- Transferring the design onto the block
- Carving the lino block, safely using tools to create different marks and effects
- Inking up and printing without the need for a printing press, using a spoon!
- Experiment with inks, coloured papers and different textures.
At the end of the day, you will take home your beautifully hand-crafted prints and lino block, to print at home.
No experience is necessary to join the workshop. All materials and equipment will be provided, along with expert guidance on the day, and instructions. Bring your own lunch. There will be tea, coffee and light refreshments.
Zoe is a Cambridge-based printmaker and illustrator who has been working with Lino Printing for many years. Trained as a stone letter carver, Lino was a natural progression into exploring another medium. Zoe blends her training in letter carving and drawing skills into a nature and pattern design-inspired lino printing practice.
Inspired by the natural world, unique patterns and storytelling, Zoe most enjoys the graphic quality of lino print and its versatility.
Zoe runs other workshops in Cambridge, for David Parr House and has exhibited at The Atelier by the Sea in Brighton and the Lettering Arts Trust in Snape Malting, Suffolk.
